Tourist information for Ulverston and the south lakes, including festivals, events, visitor attractions, accommodation, and places to eat. Ulverston is known for the Hoad Monument (a replica of the Eddystone Lighthouse), the mile-long canal, the Laurel & Hardy Museum (Stan Laurel was born in Ulverston), and its traditional markets, pubs and tea-shops.
Ulverston is proud of the variety and quality of its festivals held throughout the year. Events take place on the cobbled streets, at the Coronation Hall, Conishead Priory, the Laurel & Hardy Museum, and Ford Park.
Unfortunately, there is currently no tourist information office or phone information service in Ulverston. As an alternative, for individual advice, please ask at the town library. Also, there are leaflet stands at the railway station, Booths supermarket, indoor market, and various shops & attractions.
